Hello im quite new to the seperates business and i am considering purchasing a new system...

Now what are your views on this system... im looking mainly for the system to produce a high amount of sound and good quality... not as such as the surround sounds, or cinema sound etc.. and also what does the total purity mean... it can produce 6 x 85 now i dont know if thats amazingly loud or not.. so any advice you give me would be much apreciated

OK im a little confused as to what exactly your after here. A multi channel amp and just a pair of front speakers? What are you going to use them for, stereoor multi channel? How much is your budget?

If all you want is stereo you will get a much better sound from a stereo amp than from an av amp. If you really want to get an av amp for stereo you will have to spend £500+ to get anything that will produce sounds like a £300 stereo amp.

    How about:

Also make sure you use a CD player to play music dont be tempted to use a cheap dvd player:eek:

the speakers look good, but there 100 watts and the amp can only produce 65 a channel? how many channels does ths amp have it doesnt say? so are you saying also that av amp wont be as good as the 260 stereo amp u showed me...

Just that amp dont seem that powerful or is that just me becuase im not so sure about these things

I wouldnt worry about the amp rating of amps and speakers that much. There are a few threads on here about it than can explain it much better than i can so do a search on watts or just go and have a look back.

For stereo the 2 channel amp will blow away most £500 or less multichannel amps in stereo The amp rating on speakers is a guide as to how much power they can take before distorting (i think) and most of the time most people wont be driving them anywhere near that hard. I have the evo's and they make superb stereo speakers with loadsa power and bass:devil:

What other hifi kit do you own at the moment Fabio?? Also dont forget you need money for good interconnects and speaker cable. Mark Grant does some .5 and 1 metre long quality stereo interconnects for £25 :smashin:

att he moment i have a stand hifi. not a seperates. it proudecse 200rms which is good.. but i want more... the speakers say 16 impedance 100 peak on the back.... would they also be handy to put in aswel do you think??? Could you recomend any other stereo amps about for about 200 quid around.

But im after massive amounds of sound and that amp looks like 2 channel 60 so its only producing 120.. my hifi now does that 200... thats y im really confused

sorry if im being a pain... i just want to make sure i get good value... but i dont understand y i would be better getting a 2 channel stereo amp that makes 120 in total than 5 a channel 100 watt amp when theres abotu 300 watts diffrence...

Watts don't necessarily = power. It's just a nice marketing myth to get people to buy midi systems with a multitude of flashing lights and loads of drivers in the speakers.

Go and do some searching on older topics for a more thorough discussion - it's been done to death before.

You'll find most people around these forums are more interested in sound quality, not SPL.
