Just baught Hitachi 32pd5300 for 1750 inc vat, it had good reviews
the 5200 is even cheaper at £1419 and will I believe be compatble with sky hi def tv when it comes
Haven't wired it all up yet, expecting a busy weekend !!

Are you sure about 720P@50 DVI compability on the 5200 Hitatchi. I thought when I was at a dealers who had them in I read the specs and it disagreed with you. Could have my model numbers mixed up of course....

you are right, it has the connectons for dvi with HDCP copy protection that sky will require but not the 720 resolution which is I now understand part of the definition of a hi def screen

    still a good price though

    sorry for the misinfo

it's not the resolution of the panel I was talking about it's the fact I am pretty sure it will not accept a 720P@50 Hz signal....

TOMSONH1 - try talking to these people. And no, I'm not affiliated - I've just heard lots of good things about them in this forum. Try a search for them and you will see what I mean.

Also, this is a good thread to read for beginners advice. Its gotten pretty long now, but its full of answers...
