The girlfriend has suddenly announced that she wants a nintendo ds. And I haven't got a clue!

    Can someone recommend me:

a few games(sims been mentioned;which is the best un?) and best place to get em(online or instore)?

    any essential accessories?

where to buy and what price? (instore rather than online)

Id really be grateful for any help, I know absolutely nothing about the nintendo ds(neither does she!) but its the first time she has ever shown any interest in gaming in any way! Wouldnt want to spoil it!

Games wise,go for Animal crossing and possibly nintendogs. For the console they are in short supply at the moment but you could try your local asda or tescos.

you want the smaller ds lite, possibly in pink. The only trouble is, half the women in the world want one now so your going to struggle. tescos, asda might be your best bet

Already got one reserved if i want it, 99.99(ds lite on its own).
Thanks for the game recommendations, what Im worried about is things like chargers, batterys and stylus(does one come with it? I noticed packs of three being sold? Do they break or only work for a limited time?)

I think Gamestation will give you the DS lite and any game of your choice for £109.99.

You get two stylii in the box with the DS lite.

The ds has a rechargeable battery built in and u get a charger, you get a stylus and a spare one in case you lose it.

You can play games from anywhere in the world on it (region free) and also Gameboy Advance games.

plus you can play people anywhere in the world, if it's wifi enabled (the little blue logo on the front of a box indicates this). I'm currently trying to hook up with my nephew whose in an Italian ski resort for a game of Mario Kart atm. The game Zookeeper is good as well.

Just got back from argos and got a pink ds lite for 99.99, no game with it but at least I managed to get one:clap:
Sold out almost everywhere else I popped into, certainly no pink ones!
Got New Super Mario bros, sims 2(which is the one she asked for!) and essential sudoku(shes an addict!), all for £50.
Probably could have got all that and more for less if she hadnt left it so late though
One question though, the ds box came with no sealed plastic wrapping(from argos), is this normal? I asked and was told that it wasnt a return.

I just received a new white one from LXDirect for £68.50 (with 10% off + £25 off vouchers).
Not sealed in any way ... (and I had cancelled the order as they told me they couldn't get stock by Xmas)

What a bunch of plonkers ...... still at that price I can't really complain (too much).

PS bowling against another player on 42 all time classics is great.
