[SOLVED] LG 55UP77 wifi problem

Hello,

My LG 55UP77 has a strange wifi problem. I have a TP-Link Archer C7 router, and connectiong the TV to wifi seems to work ok (no error message), but when starting apps like Youtube or Netflix the connection drops after a minute or so and the TV says "not connected". The TV doesn't have any problem with my second router (Xiaomi) and wifi works fine. The TP-Link works great with other devices (Lenovo tablet, a couple of android streames and every cellphone I tested). It's just this combination - TV and that TP-Kink router. I did a factory reset to bothe the TV and router, but nothing helps. Any ideas?

Looks like the TV wifi can't handle the "smart connect" feature of the router where the 2.4GHz and 5GHz radios have the same SSID. Disabling 5GHz in router solved the problem.

you could just rename the 5g and split them into 2 seperate ssid???

Sure, that supposed to work just as well, but the 5G by itself is almost useless outside the room where the router is, and anyways I didn't notice any significant speed improvement using it.
