Well, having owned it for a month I finally decided to ditch it in favour of a Sky+ and sold it on to a mate.

At the end of the day it had too many minor niggles to work out for me. That said, I'm in the situation of living in Switzerland and using Sky for ALL my programming so those who use it for recording analogue in the UK might have acted differently. It certainly seemed to be a superb replacement for a regular VCR that only recorded analogue cable/broadcast TV. However as something that solely captured video from a Sky box it fell a bit short. Also, if I'd brought it back to the UK the tuner wouldn't function properly.

After I get the Sky+ box I'll wait a bit and see how the next generation of HHD/DVD decks pan out. Built in DTT tuners and dual layer recording along with some polishing of the day to day operation could tempt me to get another one.
