I've just bought a cheap Tag AV32R (base spec except with PLII enabled), and the current software version is something like 3.45. I'm sure there have been many updates since this one...is it worth the hassle of getting a Tagtronic cable to load up the latest software?

If so, how would it change the performance of my Tag? (which is excellent btw:))

Smurfin the latest for AV32SP is 3.8 but as you say you need the cable. There were a lot of fixes over the various software releases but I can't remember what they all were.

The "old" forum had a list of them so check to see if they are still listed in the IAG site

Hi, I cannot remember v3.45 for the AV32R SP. The list of software was, as far as I recollect: 3.4, 3.40.1, 3.5, 3.50.1, 3.6, 3.7, v3.75 and finally v3.8. So a very long list of upgraded and associated changes. Definitely worth upgrading to v3.8 in my opinion  .

Sure theres a thread here that mentions the versions and what changed.. I have 3.75 so I don't think its worth getting the cable to upgrade.. I'll wait till I upgrade the machines DAC's etc and get the heldpdesk to upgrade it at the same time!

    Cheers

    Matt

There was even a V2.01 on our original unit........(I'm surprised I remembered it......). I'd always use the latest version compatible with your device/options.

well it didn't work well as I seem to remember due to a duff batch of some component and was fixed almost overnight and came back with v2.04 so......Nice lunch with Jo Graham when I picked it up as I also seem to remember!
