Software to playback ITV HD recordings on PC?

Active Member

When i swapped out my HDD on foxsat HDR I transffered some ITV HD recordings to my PC.
I have used VLC extensively in the past (especially when I was using a freesat PCI tuner card), but VLC will not playback ITV HD recordings from HDR?
I've tried the latest version 1.1.4 and one from 12 months ago.

Anyone have any idea what else I can use?
I could convert to DVD (but don't want to, I want to keep the quality)
I have tried a program called M2tstots (from the WIKI) to convert the file to a "true .ts" file but it does not recognise the file.
TMT3 cannot play them either.
Tried Videoredo Tv suite but cannot open them.

Unless the recordings were made in non-freesat mode on the HDR they are almost certainly encrypted and will only playback in the HDR they were recorded in.

Oh, I learn something new then.

I know there is a flag that tells the HDR not to let me copy ITV HD recordings off to USB, but I thought that was the only limitation.
I did'nt know the recorded file contained any other encryption.

They were made in freesat mode.

Well I guess thats the end of the road for that then.

Another downside to Freesat.
