    Hi:

The question says it all. I'm looking for a dvd player with DVI/HDMI output, good quality, preference for a universal player, and that outputs 576p/50 in a way that the f:censored: panny DVI blade recognizes the signal. Any player? so far, i know that the Denon 2910 will not work :thumbsdow and my yamakawa 375 works perfectly

Or should i just forget about DVI in the Panny :suicide:

    Regards,

Does it have to be DVI etc?

I'm going to use my new Arcam DV27a outputting analog. prog. scan with cables from Mark Ward to a BNC component board on my PW6.

    I'd bet it'll be a stunnig picture.

The point is you can buy a DV27a for £950 brand new. No SACD though if that's important to you.

    Hi:

well..i was considering replacing my yamakawa 375. And i have to justify the buy of the DVI board. And, yes SACD (and DVD-Audio) are important, if i'm going to upgrade. I'm thinking on the samsung HD945 (if ever get's out). Denon 2910 can't be, since it does not work :(

I know of an arcam 79 that's working, actually it's a bit hit or miss. As the Panasonic has very good analogue inputs, pesonally I'd go that way. I can get 576/50 out of my iscan via dvi, but choose to go analogue because it's a better picture IMHO.

so, it's a general opinion that i should sell my DVI board and forget about it?

Well...anyone interested in a DVI board?

try before selling! It's not just Panasonic who are guilty here either, digital video is somewhat 'bleeding edge' just now, I still maintain Pioneer have nobbled the other inputs on the HDE/XDE series to make digital look better.

Just brought an hd945 and currently have a panasonic TH42-PW6 plasma. I was looking to get the panasonic DVI board but have been told by some suppliers that this board will only work properly on commercial version of the plasma and not the ones made for the home market. Does anyone know if this is the case and should I forget the DVI and get a component board.

    Hi:

i've a TH42PW6 that is silver with a DVI board. My yamakawa works fine on that board. Don't know if this helps you. I'm also considering the 945. If you get the board, please inform if the samsung works with it, because i'm considering buying one.

Just got a DVI board for the PW6 and connected the HD945 to it using the HDMI to DVI cable supplied with the player and it gives a fantastic picture at all resolution.

keep the DVi board, (very useful bit of kit) but i am yet to see a digital connection on a panny i prefer to component..........from a similar priced player a 2910 is £500 and the 3910 is £800 i would pick an Arcam DV78 for DVD playback but the SACD/DVD-A will be the sticking point, also you pay alot more for a DVD player with digital outs than an eqivalent player with just analogue outpts.
