great theme park - fantastic place.Last night we booked up for fortnight in Salou for the first two weeks in July. Never been before but heard great things about the PortAventura theme park.
So where are you going?
I think we are paying about £2500 for 2 weeks in a 3 bed villa (inc private pool), car hire and flights for 4.Did you guys get a good deal?
We think it was a pretty good deal. We got a free child place so the total cost for the 3 of us all inclusive was just over £1600. We do need to drive to Manchester (from Glasgow) for the flights as the free child place wasn't available if flying from Glasgow (Scottish school holiday time).Did you guys get a good deal?
We go to that area regularly. A friend has a 3 bed villa he lets us have for a crazily cheap price. Mil Palmeras, on the coast 10 mins from Murcia airport (and we're only 10mins from Luton). Really easy, cheap holiday. Although it's so cheap we end up blowing a fortune on food and booze instead. We have rented a villa near Murcia for 2 weeks in August/September.
Last year was the first year we didn't do package holidays and organised everything ourselves, we enjoyed it so are doing it again.
Short flights and no set meal times, works very well for our 2 year old.
I'm tempted to do this at one point in my life, although we have no camping gear so thats a bit of an obstacle to overcome first!Probably driving to some or all of France Belgium Germany Switzerland again for August. Usually plan at the last minute.
we did some train journeys last year in holland and germany as went to see a mate in holland and ended up - uk - utrecht (1 night), amersfoort (1night), hannover (2 nights), flensburg (3 nights), leiden (1 night)... I usd to live in hannover, and went out for a night out in flensburg back in 97'..!I'm tempted to do this at one point in my life, although we have no camping gear so thats a bit of an obstacle to overcome first!
I should think of all the obstacles that is a pretty easy one to fixI'm tempted to do this at one point in my life, although we have no camping gear so thats a bit of an obstacle to overcome first!
True, although its an investment that I will probably end up saying stuff that & book a hotel!I should think of all the obstacles that is a pretty easy one to fix![]()
We bought our gear two years ago and have done ten weeks in the tent now - compared to two hotel rooms for that long we are quids inTrue, although its an investment that I will probably end up saying stuff that & book a hotel!
We are going south of San Javier this year, near Los Alcazares. I agree on the food and drink, not a holiday unless you put on the pounds! We go to that area regularly. This years we have 3 weeks in Florida. Not been for 8 years. Loads of parks, loads of golf and loads of relaxing in between.
Get yourself over to the Camping, Do you, Would you? thread and you will soon have a shopping listIm a complete camping novice so its a minefield to me, but you are right it is the most cost effective way of traveling.
Don't forget to take £5 for the airport fee!We are going south of San Javier this year, near Los Alcazares. I agree on the food and drink, not a holiday unless you put on the pounds!
We are down South so airports are few and far between. Due to awful flight times at Exeter, we are actually flying from Newquay this year, never done it before, so it should be an experience. Couldn't get flights to Murcia unfortunately, so flying in to Alicante, but that's not a huge issue.
It has been scrapped, momentary panic as I had no idea what you meant.Don't forget to take £5 for the airport fee!![]()
Ah good to know. Last two times I went through Newquay, I had to pay. Buggers! It has been scrapped, momentary panic as I had no idea what you meant.
