According to the television trailer "is this the new Alien?"

Hmmm let me think can a 12 A certificate movie, which a six year old child can watch, provide the same kind of suspense, horror and thrills to deserve any comparison with Alien? Whoever came up with that quote would have to be a complete Muppet! In answer to your question I haven't seen the film DTS Borg however I saw a review on the telly which maintained it is crap and apparently you're better off watching "the descent" I think it was called.

I would be surprised if the Dukes of Hazzard is any good either unless you have any kids to take with you, apparently there is nothing new or exciting that you haven't seen a million times before or so if you're a fan of the original TV series you're almost certainly bound to hate it.

they both sound like DVD rentals at best to me.

Noooo!!! Don't do it! If you already have, my commiserations.
Took the wife and two kids last night. It was the kids call and quite frankly I was happy just not to have to sit through Dukes of Hazzard. What a mistake.

The basic premise is a team of crack divers get a call from a grizzled Romanian scientist who tells them that he's found a cave and he's got some money, so why don't they come on down and do a little diving.
What are they looking for? Well I didn't quite know, but it doesn't matter because they won't be around for long.

A cave-in blocks the party from their entry route, and for some reason, despite this being a well-funded expedition, they won't be "missed for 12 days''. So begins a search for a way out. Or should I say an excuse to shoot some cool underwater scenes and put some hotties in harm's way. And kill them off, one by one.

Of course they're not alone. No, the cave is populated by bad CGI mutant hybrids pieced together with the flotsam and jetsam of Aliens, The Abyss, and Pitch Black.
Are the crack team scared? No they're pumped. Zipped up in trendy diving suits they never seem that bothered and at the first sign of trouble everybody uses the monster-stocked lake as a chance to get in a swim.

Grab the paycheck and run acting mixed with an awful script, "This cave is a very serious piece of work. It's already taken one life. Respect the cave." Laugh, I had to get the tissues out. Best unintentionally funny moment, the hottie female nearly drowns, hottie hunk immediately cuts open her wetsuit top to perform CPR because, it seems, CPR doesn't properly work on women unless their cleavage is visible. Excellent.

    Respect the cave!

Looking at the trailer it seemed like an exact copy of The Descent.

NO! The Descent was pretty good, well acted and v atmospheric and that's where any similarities end.

I also thought its a straight rip-off from the Descent which is a great movie. So is the Dukes of Hazzard. You should have gone to see that.

To be fair to The Cave, it was actually in production etc before the Descent, i guess it's just bad timing that the Descent was awesome and this looks extremely tedious.... :thumbsdow however i'm sure the yanks will lap it up.. (no offence meant! ;) )
