I don't know if there been a simmilar thread but I was wondering is there any game that had a definite ending that you liked so much you played it more than once.

Natural choices for me for a start
Thief: The Dark Project. Played 3 times My mate lent it me and played on easy then hard/expert, then went and bought the gold version which opened up more quest.
Thief 2: The Metal Age twice again easy and hard/expert.
Thief 3: The Deadly Shadows. 1.9 times reason I was on the last quest and had to reformat my c drive and my games were on d drive but for some reason they started saving games on the c and lost my saves and about the same time started WOW and came back to complete after I did Thief 2014.

      Similar type of game
Deus Ex: Same easy and then hard/expert I chose some different choices the second time and were poorer ones than the first time.

Diablo 2 although played though on all classes I also did it on the same class but different specs. It was annoying Blizzard were for ever changing how things worked. I remeber there was a spell where a paladin thread a weapon and it spiraled out and you also could use a spell to increase damage for a short time, so peeps were taking the talents and using them together but it was stopd but peeps were locked in with no way of re specking.
Saying that someone brought out an addon to re set specs.

Civ 2 and Civ 3 both more or less made to be played more than once which you keep having that last turn to see what your advancement would do and then find it well into the next day.

Dungeon Keeper 1/2 playing that late the game would tell you off "even demons have to sleep"
      And them playing Disco Inferno.
Darn it I may get it out and play again.
Dungeon Keeper 2 - Disco Inferno

Another big fan of the Thief games here and must have played The Metal Age around ten times (I kid you not). By the end I knew all of the door codes off by heart.
I only played The Deadly Shadows twice but the new one I'll be playing again soon, once I've got some spare time.

Currently on my second run through of Sniper Ghost Warrior 3.

I absolutely love the game "Black" and wish there had been a PC Version I played it on every difficulty to unlock everything then deleted the save and done it again.

Guilty of playing some of the old school Tomb Raiders a few times (TR1, 2, 3, Anniversary). I managed to get TR1 looking fairly sweet on my PC a few months back with some mods and was tempted to do it all again :)

Recently, Dishonored. First playthrough was as non-lethal as I could manage, although I occasionally took out a target. Second was full-on psycho mode. I guess I'm not alone here.

Probably going to evoke cries of "you sad sad man" but I finished Oblivion on the 360 and then did it all again on the PC :rotfl:

Of the modern gaming era, GTA Vice City is the only one that comes to mind.

Most long-winded open world games I can't be bothered to revisit, even on a harder difficulty setting. Life's too short...

Tron 2.0 (3 times) Far Cry & Crysis all spring to mind. Besides very much enjoying the games (obviously), I'd replay them after major upgrades if I couldn't manage 60fps at launch.

I've never actually done this with any game. I mostly play multiplayer so it's not really relevant, but never really felt the need to play through a game again.

The only one I would definitely have done this with is Max Payne 3, but the unskippable cut scenes were just too much of a pain to do it.

Diablo 1, 2 and 3, Path of Exile - do they count though as you are supposed to replay them?

Atic Atac and Sabre Wulf on Spectrum 48K

Does restarting Skyrim for the billionth time with a new character and quitting after a two weeks count?

If it has to be on PC, Dishonored and Skyrim - as they offer different experiences depending on how you play.

The one I had to play through again just for the story though - The Last of Us.

I enjoyed Dishonored and was a bit miffed when the bloke in the boat took umbrage with me because of my playing style. Ill have to go back some time and play different to make him happy but I did enjoy setting rats on foes.

I've done tons to be fair, I mainly play Adventure/RPG games so all will generally have a conclusion and i've played dozens of them multiple times

Most recently would have been The Witcher 3, done that 3 times so far and tempted to go again soon, also done the rest of the series multiple times

Chains of Satinav and Memoria had a good story so both i've done twice.

I still go back an revisit a lot of retro adventure games having played probably most of the Sierra back catalogue of games multiple times., police quest, kings quest, quest for glory etc. Also throw in the Lucasarts series too, Indiana Jones, Loom and more.

The Longest Journey, Dreamfall and Dreamfall chapters i've done through in order a few times

Always on the look out for recommendations!!

      Have you played it recently?
I tried loading Dungeon Keeper 2 up and it would not play. I read on the net you needed set it to compatible mode for the XP with service pack 2. Mine is up to pack 3 in the options, which I tried and also XP pack 2 and run as admin but wont work.

Thief 2 came out the year later so was wondering if you played it recently and had to mess with setings to get it to play?

I tried playing it about 10 years ago when I got my Dell 30 incher but I couldn't get it to play in anything other than boxed at 1600x1200, so gave it up as a bad job. I'd read somewhere that some people had managed to get to the higher resolutions somehow but again, I didn't bother with it.

A updated remake would be epic though that's for sure as it was my favourite of the series, with 4 being a close second.

There was an other I played to the end 3 times although as three different types it was very much like Diablo 2 and I pretty sure the caster was called a conjurer each started in a different area but quickly ended up in the same scenarios the nice thing what ever you played had a different cut scene at the end and I think one was not a good one for you.

Great shout, I didn't play it twice, but once I completed it, I helped my son play through it.

I tend not to revisit games, but completed Diablo Reaper of Souls multiple times and Until Dawn (to kill / save different characters), but that probably breaks what you were asking.

A few of you have mentioned it, but I still haven't completed Kingdoms of Amalur, I keep it as my "laptop" game but I've got so many games that I keep forgetting to revisit it - It's such a fun RPG as well! I recently also started Dragon Age (again, on my laptop); putting Amalur off even further.

Skyrim - I didn't even finish the main quest, I just pumped in hundreds of hours doing side-quests and I then b0rked it with that WATER mod, you know the one - It went from "Realistic Water" (or something) to "WATER" to "WATER2" and it penultimately meant I couldn't leave Riften (Fast travel, walking out the door - all b0rked). I sadly was in deep despair - with hundreds of hours lost - and I abandoned Skyrim until the SE was released. Now, I'm hooked, again! :D

Dishonored - Played this through and did a 50/50 kill-em-spare-em. I verged myself over to High Chaos and got that ending. In-stead of simply replaying some levels and being less lethal, I gave the game a berth (about a year) and re-completed it as non-lethal.

Max Payne 1/2/3 - I love the MP series. I can't remember how many times I've completed (and modded) the initial 2 games. I was actually playing through MP3 and forgot I was playing it - I then went back to the start in-stead.

Perfect Dark (N64 & XB360) / Goldeneye (N64) - If you've never played these Rare classics, you've never lived. I replayed the hell out of them. The XB360 remaster was fantastic as well.

Conkers Bad Fur Day (N64 & XB) - Another Rare classic :D Both the original and the remake were fantastic.

Splinter Cell - I can't remember which ones I've completed more than once, but I've played them all.

Metal Gear Solid & Twin Snakes - One of the best games ever made! And was only bested by its remake on the GameCube. As an aside - Harry Gregson Williams' MGS OST will stick in my head until the day my pulse stops!

Hitman 2, 3, Contracts, Blood Money & HITMAN - All fantastic games. Completed them over various years (and decades!!) I only completed Hitman: Absolution once, however!
