...That have stolen a living for far too long.

I'll get the ball rolling - women comedians, or comediennes before The Guardian took over.
They're only funny to other women. Most blokes don't find the likes of the vile Jenny Eclair or Miranda funny at all.

Steven K Amos. I'd hazard a guess at what the 'K' stands for and that word usually starts with a 'C'.
Boss eyed Russell Howard is another wage thief.

There are millions more but it's over to you...

There are too many sweeping generalisations and exaggerations here.

Can’t see this thread lasting long tbh.

You seem quite upset about this, am I right that you don’t like all female and one gay male comedian?

Jeez I thought I was provocative.
But in earnest I can't see why that paraplegic comedienne who appears a lot on The Last Leg is considered funny. Surely the ability to be able to be understood is an important one? Oops!

That Miranda show is horrendously bad. Women definitely find her funny.

That woman with the Geordie accent, fat and glasses, I can’t even remember her name but I think she’s on the bbc a lot. Not funny in the least. The bloke on 9 out of 10 cats not funny either.

I only wanted to know your thoughts on unfunny comedians.
Of which there are many who are stealing a living.
Nowt to do with colour, race or creed,

I believe The Guardian is thataway

Comedy is very personal, so what one person finds hilarious another sits there completely stony-faced.

But TV does often feel like a closed shop - at any given time on any given channel you'll see the same faces pop up over and over again endlessly. It doesn't seem to be based on talent or ability, just on the fact that you've got your foot in the door and you're now a name (of sorts).

So yes, I see the OP's point about stealing a living, but I don't think it just applies to comedy.

I don't find any of the so called comedians so beloved by Channel 4 funny in the slightest. They all seem exactly the same and their humour banal and childish.

Look, it's simple really, the only funny comedians are the ones I like and my opinion is objectively correct because my arguments come from a position of infallible taste and incontrovertible logic. The ones I don't find funny are actually, fundamentally not funny, it's not that I'm not their target audience, it can't be explained by a difference in taste and, just as some people need glasses to see and others don't, my sense of humour is simply better than yours and if you like them you must be mentally defective.

Anyone who's actually prepared to publicly admit to liking/not liking this one particular lefty/PC/misogynist/feminist/alt-right/gay/fat/glasses-wearing/bald/homophobic/racist/American/man/woman/horse can go take a running jump the Guardian/Socialist Worker/Daily Mail/Breitbart/Woman's Weekly/Racing Post is over there >>>>>>>
where you snowflake degenerate millennial gammon-faced cretins can bleat about being triggered by offensive jokes and complain about comedy you don't find funny but nobody's forcing you to watch it's not like there aren't literally a million other things on these days and leave us all in peace.

Jfc you might as well start a thread "So called colours..." and argue about which is the best. (It's blue by the way, people who think it's red need to take a good long look at themselves and don't even get me started on aquamarine).

Comedy comes in many forms and comedians can change their style to meet the entertainment needs of the audience.

For example, an audience of OAPs would require a totally different style of comedy compared to an audience of university students.

Standing all alone in front of an audience delivering a successful comedy routine is one of the hardest things to achieve and takes years of practice before hitting the sweet spot.

The comments in this thread highlight how difficult it is.

    Watching Adil Ray right now.
Nope, not even as much as a titter.
Probably due to the fact he's as funny as a punch in the mouth.
And I'm fairly sure he's had a few of those during his so-called comedic years.

Comedians, male, female, LGBT whatever race, whatever religion who have chip on their shoulder and make that a part of virtually every ‘joke’ they tell.

As much as it pains me to say this as a fellow Palace fan but Jo Brand.
I've met her a few times at Selhurst - perfectly nice gal when she hasn't got a hamburger shoved in her gob but still not funny.
You're fat and ugly - we get it but how have you made a career out of this?

Comedians that rely on having their own show and a team of lackies to make them the centre of attention. It soon shows when they are placed on their own amongst other comedians that they are not funny. Cordan mentioned above is a good example, so is Chris Evans.

    Cheers,

    Nigel

Omid Djilali - there's definitely a spelling mistake or 5 in that.
He's from Iran apparently but hasn't built his career on this.

She is one of those comedians who doesn’t ‘work’ on tv.
I used to think the same about her, not funny at all and an annoying voice.
However, I watched her live ‘stand up’ performance and she was was actually very funny (and very crude) and completely different to what she is like on tv. Still had an annoying voice though.
I still laugh now at her joke...
“I bought a pair of knickers and on the front they had wrote ‘I will do anything for love’, but on the back it had wrote ‘but I won’t do that’”

I think sense of humour is very different depending on where in the country you live too. I think up north we are harder to please.

One I used to find totally unfunny was Kathleen Tate. She was in the Miranda category. Thankfully we don’t hear from her any more.
