Smartphones and Mediaplayers

Here's one i've not been able to solve .... hopefully one of you can!

I have an MDA3 which I would like to use more efficiently as a media player. Not a problem you think and you are correct but, the screen needs to stay on for Windows Media Player to play tunes.

Why is this an issue? Coz when im on my bike chucking it around roundabouts, the material in my pocket touches the screen performing some random act of tune change/volume/app launch/dial random person! Argh!

All very funny, for granma to hear me shout "why are you pulling out you stupid f*&^ing cage driver!" :rotfl: Sadly, she doesn't seem to like this hehe

Hardcase for it would be an idea but it does not help with battery life as the screen is still on.

So, what I would like is a Smartphone media player that continues to play with the screen turned off..... any ideas? Is it even possible?

Cheers in advance!

Have a look here http://forum.xda-developers.com/

I used to have an App on my XDAIIs that turned the screen off and turned off all the buttons as well, I set it up to be activated by pressing the Memo/record button. WinMedia player then carries on playing without random button presses in your pocket.

Think it was called Screenlock so try search website above for that.

Just be aware that you can only disable this app using the specific button presses.

Many times in the past I have "accidently" enbabled this in my pocket and had to reset my XDA cos I thought it had hung!

:rotfl: I'll look out for that one!

It took me a few guesses to find the right key combo - which for anyone that needs to know on an MDA is Calender and Email buttons.
