I have been vaguely looking at smart locks, mainly out of curiosity having recently managed to accidently lock myself out for the first time.

Very quickly I find a lot of locks that can apparently be controlled from Alexa.

Am I the only one who thinks this is a really really bad idea? I just get this mental image of the modern hi-tech kiddy-thief just yelling "Alexa! open the fookin door!" through the letter box.

Not absolutely sure but I think the Alexa connection only works for locking the door just now.

there is no functionality to unlock currently.

With the new voice recognition facility they may include this later though
