I'm not sure what the regs are with regard to light fittings in the bathroom. Is it still ok to use 240v fittings like we used to, or do light fittings now have to be low powered, e.g. 24v?

Obviously this would affect the use of smart bulbs.

It depends which part of the bathroom and the IP rating of the light fitting. But yes you can use 240v

The only place that legally requires SELV (Extra Low Voltage) is in the bath, anywhere else requires Appropriate IP rated fittings and for the lighting circuit to be RCD protected. IPX4 is the minimum water protection required.

I've got both a Hue 240V GU10 over the shower and a standard E27 hue bulb in my bathroom, both in appropriately rated fittings with no issues.
