Smaller surrounds or same size all round?

    Is this just a matter of personal sound preference or is there an accepted standard? Most setups I have seen tend to have large speakers at the from and tiny surround speakers. A couple of our local dealers suggest 2 floor standers at the front and 2 at the rear (B&W 603s?) and the amp is the 3802

    Sounds a bit over the top to me:confused:

    DEO,
    DD and DTS are capable of making good use of full range rears.
    The big cats in Gladiator can become smaller cats as they move around.
    Dolby Surround and Dolby Pro-Logic (1), only needed small rears but times have changed.
    (Subwoofers excepted).
