Hi, i'm looking for info on a suitable small widescreen TV for the bedroom.

I want it to match to a Sony DAV-S550 speaker DVD system so inbuilt speakers in the TV aren't required. There seem to be 24" widescreen TV's but they're all too deep (45cm) for the space I have, which gives about 41cm at a stretch, and includes no room for cables to stick out the back!

Are there any 21" models around, or perhaps a portable widescreen?

    Any advice welcomed.

The only WS TVs smaller than 24 inch are LCD models. Sharp, Panasonic and Samsung (at least) do 22 inch LCDs which are the same screen size as a 24in CRT but obviously much shallower. LG, Samsung and Grundig (at least) have 17 inch models, and Panasonic (at least) has a 15 inch one.

The Grundig 17 is on sale at Dixons for GBP800 and has an excellent picture with a wide viewing angle. The Panasonic is poorer in this respect, and more expensive.

The Samsung 22 is on sale at Unbeatable for a bit under GBP1200.
