I have finally got permission from my other half to get some 'small' speakers in our 2nd room (running of the B channel of the amp).

So, I am trying to find some neat, cheap small speakers.

I plan to use them occasionally and they will only be used for music.

    My current short list is:-

    Celestion F1 (Richer Sounds £120)
Gale Gold Monitors (Richer Sounds £100)
    Tannoy mXR (About 80 quid)

Does anyone have an experience or advice for me?

surely you have found the wrong forum.
tannoy speakers are tiny and rated very highly, the predecessors to the ones mentioned were some of the most popular in Britain.

however tannoy revelution r1's are now going for about £120, they are very good

In your search for some small bookcase speakers I would recomend the celestions, I have 3 sets of these for various uses and they are very capable. I ran them in for a few weeks and if i need to turn up the volume at any time they respond and have no distorsion.
