I currently have a set of Wharfdale Valdus 400 floor standers, Wharfdale Sapphire rears and a Wharefedale center. All very old and big.

I am looking to purchase something somewhat more discrete and new and have been looking at the Jamo 5.1 system that seems very well liked here.

My question is, will there be a massive loss in sound if I upgrade to smaller speakers, or has technology improved and even though they are small and discrete, they can kick plenty with the sub?

Ideally I was looking at the Jamo system or possibly the Wharfdale Diamond 5.1 system that goes for around £330 (although the Wharfdale speakers are bigger than I would really like).

    Can anyone answer this?
