    Hello,
I've made a discovery whilst I was checking for crosstalk in my amps. I have a Sony TA-E9000es processor and my center is a KEF 100. I had set the center to <small> and I found that the Front speakers were getting about half of the center's signal aswell. It was creating a wider sound field that i didn't like. Changing the center to <LARGE> resolved the problem.
It'd be interesting if other makes did it also, most likely the newer sony amps have the same problem.
An easy way to find out if your system does it is set your center to <SMALL>, send a test tone to the center (either internally or from a dvd), disconnect the center and listen for any tones from the the fronts.
People were recommending to set the center to <LARGE> without an explanation. I think I've found it, if only by accident.

    marc :)

Sounds like a bass management/channel separation problem to me if the processor is sending test tones to the front left & right channels when they should be going to the centre channel.

I´ll check my Denon later just out of curiosity.:)

you were right, just checked again. it was a bass management problem. Not really a problem... I'm hearing the center's bass (<2000hz) through the fronts
    Jase, spot as usual:eek:
