Small problem: player, disc or cable?

Hi, sorry if this is in wrong place or seems simple. I have a toshiba blu ray player and have been using it without problem, recently I purchased star wars and all the films have been jittery during scenes which have loud music to accompany it. I remember buying a very cheap HDMI cable for this player but is this likely needed to be upgraded?
