    Hi all,

Yesterday I bought and placed the setup below, and this weekend I want to hook everything up to the AVR. I have one question with regards to setting the Oberon 7's to large or small.

    Room size: 5 x 6m
    Denon AVR-x3400h
    Speakers:
Dali Oberon 7's (3meter distance from each other)
    Dali Oberon Vokal
    Dali Sub c8d (right corner)
    2x zensor pico rears

As I understand, by setting them to small I will feed the subwoofer more instead of the 7's.
Why should i do this? Is there another reason then preference to do this?

    Regards,
    Mr_F

Always Small for a surround system with subs, start with crossover at 80Hz unless they don't go that low and then it's 20Hz over the quoted lowest, ie if they'll only do 80 set it to 100 etc.

If you want to know the ins and outs of it at length read this...

That is very small for your room size, should really be looking at a 12" for the size of room and it would also go much lower which is where the fun starts in films.

Your 7s would come into their own for 2 channel music without the sub, but having said that, if you listen to 'modern' music it's surprising how much really low stuff there is on what seem quite innocent tracks nowadays.

OK, I have read up and have somewhat of understanding.
    My lowest frequencies are:
    36 for the 7's
    47 for the center
    62 for the pico
    And 33 fo the sub.

Will start testing between 80 to ~ 60 with all speakers set to small. I have the denon avr x3400, any tips on other items configuring with the audyssey XT32?

Do you mean that the subwoofer is to small for the room and its range is sub par?
