Yes, I've looked at all the various threads, and have to say I'm not really much the wiser....

I'm looking to buy 2 small LCD's 15"/17" probably.

The market seems to have a plethora of choice in terms of cheap brand models.....but very few if any quality brands....

Equally, the view it before you buy it doesn't really seem to apply at this end of the market.......does it?????

So, assuming I am to buy on-spec, want something that will do the job, but doesn't have to be the last word in spec. etc, are there any recommendations ???

Freeview on-board would be nice, but obviously adds to the price, and is maybe not going to be the best answer as I guess it will be a cheap Freeview unit....

Some of the fruits of my research are:

Beko 17" 17LE300S @ £175http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?rb=16608233648&action=c2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=104122

Sharp 15" LC15SH1E @ £199

Goodmans 15" with Freeview at LX Direct @ £229 (less code discounts if they still apply?)

LG 15" Monitor/TV @ £182

.............and I could go on.....!!!

Anyone want to comment/give an opinion/recommendation???

TIA
:smashin:

Hi There,

I bought the phillips 17PF4310 17" widescreen and very happy with it to be honest. I was weary of the size being to small but its pretty good at the viewing distance - probably 1.2 meters. I'm feeding it sky plus using a video sender from downstairs and its grand. I would recommend the telly. Cost me 450 euro which probably means it can be for for 299 gbp...

Cheers,
Mick

I like the look of the Tosh'....its just pushing the budget a bit too much.....:(
sorry didn't mean to confuse u more, just thought it might provide more options.

What is your budget? The Tosh might be a bit of a strecth but it is a 20 inch.

You're right of course....and its ok, I wasn't really complaining!!

As I say I like the look of the Tosh but I'm really hoping to get the 2 screens for c.£500.....of course if I go non IDTV then I should factor in 2 set top boxes, shouldn't I.....hmmmm....

Of course the other angle is that 20" is really more than necessary.....now if there was a 17" Tosh with a price reduced by that ratio.......

Gonna have to raid the piggy banks I think.....
