Anyone recommend a small layer 3 switch? Thinking 8 port passive cooled.
Plenty to choose from in this market. Tastes and trends ebb and flow, years ago NetGear was popular at AVF, of late TP-Link seem to be popular. That's not to say that these brands are in any way superior, just what's been "trending."
There's not much to "go wrong" in a basic desktop switch, nor much to choose between them functionally, so things link the form factor, packaging, light show, warranty and brand reputation etc. are about the biggest factors to consider. Nearly all run off "wall wart" PSU's.
A web site called SmallNetBuilder reviews a of lot of this sort of kit and does a better job than most of objectively and repeatable testing them - you could to worse than look there. It's USA based I believe, but a lot of the kit is universal.
Thanks, I'll have a look over there!
Did you mean Layer 3 as most dumb switches as Mickevh mentions won't be Layer 3.
Whats the point of a layer 3 switch if its unmanaged?
Separate names with a comma.
