I'm after some fairly compact speakers to fit under the TFT screen on my computer, and I don't want to sit the monitor on a book to lift it up for various reasons. There's a maximum of 14cm between the desk and the underside of the monitor. Whilst this is no problem for smaller centre speakers, I'm struggling to find many packages of speakers that are quite this small for the main front L/R pair.

I have no size limitations for the rear pair as they can sit on a shelf or be wall mounted, and a centre speaker under 14cm tall should be no bother. I cannot wall mount or place the front L/R speakers on stands, they will be sat on my desk.

Has anybody considered anything like this before? I'm wondering about these so called 'lifestyle' speakers but I've no idea what they'd be like TBH.

As you can probably tell this is a 5.1 PC speaker setup I'm looking into here, but I'm looking to avoid the cheapo multimedia speakers unless my height restrictions completely stuff things up.

    Thanks,

You could always look at the Canton speakers in the powerbuy here, they're fairly small (just received mine yesterday).

Ooo, the Movie CD 101s are just within my max height requirements!

Top suggestion, thanks. I'll dig some more details out on the Sony suggestion. Thanks for that too.

I've just measured the gap to check and I think I'd better revise my height limit to 13.5cm actually. That height limitation is a bit tight really, but I'll check those Castles out too. Thanks for that, exactly what I'm after - suggestions I've not come across in my hunting so far.
