Looking to buy a reasonable dvd player that has a smallish width ie less that 40cm

    would like:

    multi region
and that would play the majority of dvd r formats
preferably as cheap as possible as it's only for a LCD tv in the bedroom

any recommendations and places to purchase would be much appreciated

    cheers

you could try buying a portable DVD player with inbuilt screen, some of those also have a s-video out to hook up to another display...

i have in the past seen narrow width players, but they are either nasty supermarket ones that were useless, or part of an all-in-one home cinema box set in somewhere like Dixons......otherwise its been a high end brand like Cyrus with their well known shoebox shape equipment.....

but mebbe someone else here has seen a respectable one going cheap......
try looking through What Hifi's back section where they list all the tested products, find DVD players in your price bracket and check the dimension column.....might find some there, then you can post back here again and ask if anyone has experience with them.....

thanks for the reply the problem with your suggestions is the height constraint also.

I know I could do the groundwork myself on the net but I thought someone may have already done it and had purchased one already

    cheers
