    Hi,

I've got a Toshiba SD-M1402 DVD drive, and it makes a fair old noise - I've read here of a utility to slow down Pioneer drives - anyone know of a similar prog/utility to slow down this drive ??

    Thanks,

    Sean G.

    Yep.

    ;)

Or.... I do know of a workable hardware trick that's guaranteed to work:

Attach small lead weights to your DVDs before playing - available from all good tyre ("tire" for all our US friends) fitting joints.

Get the self adhesive ones - don't want anything flying off now do we.

    ;)

The Pioneer Utiilty silences my 116 and it should also do the same for the 106S. I recently trialed a 120s (currently available at Komplett and ARIA) but I couldn't get the utility to silence the drive so I returned it.

Others on this forum have recommended NeroDriveSpeed, not to be confused with NeroCDspeed or NeroDVDSpeed. I tried NeroDrivespeed on the 120s but it didn't seem to recognise the drive. Hope you have better luck with the Tosh.
