Just as my PS2 starts to die they run out of stock!

Have to keep playing GTA:SA on it regardless. Unsure now if the lasers getting worse or the disc scratching is causing more of the probs as I haven't put another disc in the machine for a week or 2.

i was in GAME today and they said that if you have not put down a deposit on one by now, then you will not get one in time for Christmas.

Just as well I got mine when they came out and I have just bought a vertical stand for it.

    Looks pretty good!!!!!!!!!!

Lucky for me as well as it looks like I will get back what I paid for it. I dont see why people want them to be honest the Xbox is miles better.

Wasnt my intention. I did buy a PS2 for GTASA so you cant say I didnt try. The games not bad but I soon got bored of it well after 6 hours of play or so.

There are no other exclusive titles I can see justify owning it for. The capabilities of the PS2 are so Limited compared to the Xbox there is no point in keeping it. Its just the way I see it.

Just bought one in argos for 99 quid with 2 controllers  , had a new shipment of 15 this morning so they are still arriving (although they sold 3 while I was queueing).

Game also said if you didn't have your name down by now you wouldnt get one until after christmas. Advise you to put your name down in all the shops that take names (you can always cancel) and the ones that don't let you just pop in regularly.

I've had different advice from Game and have spoken to several stores who state the following:

Sony UK advised retailers to stop taking Pre Orders as they could not guarantee they could be fulfilled due to the afore mentioned production shortfall. Game have however a number of Pre Orders to fulfill which were taken before Sonys announcement. Therefore a number of Game stores expect batches of the console to arrive next week to fulfill the Pre Orders made prior to Sonys cut-off date. It is likely (though not guaranteed) that the batches will have a quota above the Pre Order Fulfillement. In some cases people who have made Pre Orders may have done so elswhere and will have more than one opportunity to get a console, which has the effect of releasing up consoles on Pre Order at some stores. This coupled with the possible quota's above Pre Order numbers means that some stores may well have spare consoles. I have registered my interest with Game who advise that any spare on dates of delivery will be available and they will contact me to let me know - they just can't gaurantee me, it's 1st come 1st served, but you're in with a chance if you're told they're in the store before the masses drop in. Game are definately getting stock next week, a couple of stores I spoke to had Pre Orders of 70 consoles and up to 50 people who had registered their interest. As one of the big Game stores I spoke to sold the 1st batch they got e/o Oct in 1 day, it's a case of getting into store as early as possible on delivery day's.
