Hi

Looking to relocate my sub position to a corner of the room between the sofa and the wall. Maximum width is around 210mm so looking at subwoofers around 200mm wide maximum.

Looking at some of the slimline Q Accoustics subs, these vary from 150 - 200mm wide.
3070 (200mm)
3060 (150mm)

Thinking about going for the 3060, however saw another thread with another member raving about the 2060?
What are peoples experiences on the above?

thanks

What subwoofer do you have currently? I'm just asking in case you're planning what may be a significant downgrade in performance without realising it.

Thanks for the reply. It will be a significant upgrade I would imagine. I currently have a 10-12 year old Tannoy SFX 5.1 package.
The 3060s seems to have some good reviews.

Yes, I think you're right :) .

@Slider09

2070 and 3070 are ported models with dual 6,5" drivers. The 3060S is slightly smaller sealed version with 8" driver. Sadly there is no side to side comparison of the ported vs. sealed models. Not sure is the new version really 120£ better.

2070Si - 189£/199£ (Graphite / gloss white)
3070S - 179£
3060S - 299£

It´s such a shame you are limited with the width so tightly. BK Double Gem would have wiped the floors with those QA subs. 283mm width sadly. 333£ in light oak, but there is more finishes if you could manage to get more space for the sub!

Genelec 7040 or 7050? I'm incredibly impressed with mine, coming from a BK Xls400

Which Genelec do you have? On paper the BK looks the most capable...

The 7040. Using it in different rooms for different purposes, the Genelec is near field, but I am very impressed by it.

Mostly for music?

Avoid the 3070.. amp problems have been common and they dont go very deep.

The 2070 is better built and is a better sub and probably one of the best brand new subs for under £200. The 2070 is actually a little heavier than the 3070.

A Cambridge Audio minx x200/x201 works well in a small room.of you dont need floor shaking bass.
