Totally agree. Also thought it had a bit of The Goonies about it as well. I can’t believe the extremely scathing reviews it’s had, whilst certainly not a masterpiece it’s not the stinker it’s been made out to be either. Just pure popcorn fun.

I quite enjoyed this film. It isn't as good as Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and other Simon Pegg/Nick Frost's films, but it's still a decent British comedy. Would give it a solid 7.5/10.

Decent review and positive feedback from members . Always looked like a harmless brit of horror comedy to me and will check it out next week .

That's the deal these days though isn't it, it's either a masterpiece or a dumpster fire. Not on here, but the general reviews. It's getting tiresome.

I went and saw this in a double header on Halloween night, this followed by the 4K The Fog re-release. I thought it was watchable at best and was surprised at the lack of laughs in the film, as well as in the cinema. It did have the odd good scene and the monsters reminded me a bit of the creatures from Attack The Block.

Compare that with the complete contrast when I went to watch The Fog, the screen was packed and everyone loved it, even laughing at stuff that most of them had more than likely already seen.

Not bad but could of been better.

I saw this last night and found it very entertaining, with plenty of laughs throughout from us and the other members of the audience.
Very much in the spirit you would expect from the team involved, with many familiar trademark stamps to help you feel at home. Not as good as Hot Fuzz but as good as/or probably even a little better than Shaun of the Dead for me and definitely a nice step up on The World's End.

Definitely worth watching if you're into this type of brit flick.

Yeah I probably liked it more than The Worlds End, a film I found very flat and disappointing.

Pretty disappointed with it to be honest. I thought it had small good bits but they were few and far between and most of it was just plain silly, not funny silly but stupid silly.

A waste of Pegg and Frost - this was no Spaced nor Shaun of the Dead.

It may be an age thing though, my son (24) enjoyed it.

      I'd give it a 5/10
My son gives it a 7/10

      Cheers,

      Nigel

I saw this tonight without knowing much about it prior, and found it an interesting failure of a film. Nothing like Shaun of the Dead / Hot Fuzz etc, more St Trinians / The Riot Club, but it’s hard to pin down as it crosses several genres and lacks focus in general. I laughed a handful of times though I expect younger audiences would find it funnier, but I think the talented cast should have been given more to work with.
