Just had my 2 boxes installed but as luck would have it they aint even close to a phone socket. I got round to thinking if you can run power over ethernet why cant i run a phone connection over it, or with a DECt adapter.
Is there such a thing or am I just being a bit over ambitious?

Look at the wireless telephone extenders on the page:

I've got one fitted, and it works brill and completely out of sight.

while adaptors such as this are switched on (they only work if they're switched on) are they not using electricity?

If so how much and will my electricity bill shoot through thr roof

Are these compatible with these http://www.devolo.co.uk/uk_EN/produkte/dLAN/mldlanhsstarterkit.html

Yes they are using power whilst in use, but I woould have thought it to be a negligable amount compared to other items that you probably leave on stand-by 24/7. e.g Sky box, Video/DVD, cordless telephone & etc.

Sorry can't help you with compatibilty with the power-grid LAN.
