hello there i am new here and i have just phoned up sky to get sky+ installed but they told me i need a bt line in order to have it installed i currently have a telewest line atm moment can some one shed some light on this as i am confused on why i should need this bt line

Any landline, BT or cable, will be OK for Sky+ as long as that line can make "call backs". If you are after Sky Talk or Broadband as well these are only available on BT landlines.

It sounds as though the CS rep you spoke to is misinformed. Ring back and if they ask again say you have a landline which is all that is necessary for Sky+.
