    Hi,

A couple of questions about Sky + (am thinking of buying it).

    1. Is it still possible to control the new Sky + box with a video, as with the standard box, to change channels for recording ?

    2. Do Sky make you pay the £10 subscription to enable the recording function or can you opt out and use ths box as a standard digibox and subscribe later if wanted ?

    Thanks for your help.

I've got a Panasonic vcr which used to be able to control a standard digibox, it can't control SKY+.
I got in touch with Panasonic and they confirmed the vcr did not have any compatable control codes and they would not be releasing any firmware upgrades to correct this.
However future models would "probably" have the code set included.

You do not have to pay the SKY+ subscription when it is installed.
You are quite free to use SKY+ as a standard digigbox for it's entire lifespan and subscribe to it's PVR features at when you wish.
