    Hello all!
Does anyone know when the the blurb for the new digibox will be released? When I pre-registered I was told that all it envolved was me being put on a list of people who showed an interest & when any info became availble it would be sent out.
    Cheers!

Paul, we are all in the same boat.
All sky will say is that it will be here during the summer, and since summer is here now.......
    BTW, when does summer end?

After reading the press release.. once again we seem to be getting shafted and robbed blind.

There is no way on gods earth I am paying £300 +£50 install (what for.. I think I could plug it in myself) and then a further £10 a month. Thats means to watch telly I would be paying £40 a month and have the ability to record the same programs which are repeated at least 2-3 times a week.

    Outrageous.

    Matt

P.S I liked the comment in the press release which said demand will be high as 60,000 ppl have rung the hotline..but of course those ppl did not know about the cost (Like me!)

However, it might mean there are just enough mugs who will sign up without complaining for Sky to think they have done the right thing.
Tell everyone you know NOT to sign up!

It comes with a 4way LNB apparently, 2 for Sky+ and 2 as yet unused. Therefore, it is not just a simple plug in jobie.

The press release officially anoouncing it was issued this morning. The first boxes are expected sometime in September.

The pricing seems to be £300 plus £10 per month, the same as TIVO.

    The release is here:

    Sky Press Release

If this doesn't come out - go to the Sky.com home page, then Sky Corporate and then press releases.

Does that mean you'll be able to upgrade the hard disc yourself ??????

anyone know what functions will remane if you do not pay the sub .

i am interested in the box but am no way paying an extra sub . will any of the recording functions still work .

i know that you can buy a tivo without the sub and still retain a lot of the functionality . will this be the same way with sky+ or are they going to be a bunch of ****s and disable everything if you do not subscibe to the service

So far I have not seen anything from Sky, or elsewhere, that makes it absolutely clear the Sky+ box can be purchased without a sub.
