S-video to capture card (PB-TV100 from PC World) through Dscaler, via DVI to HS20 :)

the best way - easy :)

    SDI out of a SKY+ box into a H3d-ii.

See www.irj-tech.com for details and screenshots.

next best is RGB, then svideo and lastly composite into a capture card of choice (Sweetspot, Pinnacle etc)

The Sweetspot isn't yet available (next week hopefully) but looks like the ideal solution for RGB capture from Sky etc. Can't wait to try it :)

SDI from Sky+ only on version 1 boxes at present. Wasn't greatly impressed with the H3D - several problems from what I could see, not least of which was a pretty pronounced green push :( Not cheap either

X-card - not had much chance to play with one yet.

Hence, PB-TV100 (< £30) & Dscaler is probably the cheapest reasonable solution at present.

Had problems with Pinnacles PCTV Rave card(s) - horizontal ripple occassionally which, try as I might, I could never cure.

No such problems (so far) with a PB-TV100.
