    Hi,

Currently looking to replace my vcr,and was wondering if the sky+ deal at 199 squids was worth it?
I am also thinking of adding a panny e50 recorder to my setup.
I really like the hard drive idea and buying these two items works out about the same as the Panny HS2,any thoughts?
    Mucho graciarse,
    Phil

It's certainly worth it, many people end up watching very little "live" TV i.e. when it's broadcast and time-shift to suit their own needs. A fantastic product from Pace! You may want to hold off buying a DVD recorder for now, prices are certain to drop a lot by christmas (set to be this years "must buy") and I can't remember the last time I used my VCR after getting Sky+ last August! It's now more of a very elaborate living room clock

    Sky+ @£199. Worth it.

£10 per month subscription fee. Not worth it.

See, that's what I was thinking.

What exactly is the £10 a month for? That's another £120 a year...

Can't be for the TV listings, as you get those with the basic Sky.

I'd buy it straight away without that fee.

Well would you pay £500 quid for it????
The £10 a moth subs the hardware on the assumption you willkeep it for 2 1/2 years ish at least. As well as the development costs etc I think compared to the alternatives its not bad but paying for TV is always going to be an is it isn't it.
