I have been offered a Sky+ box at an extremely attractive price, which I intend primarily to use for its DD 5.1 output.

However the vendor, a satellite installer, claims that the box will still record without the £10 per month subscription. The only function that will not be useable is the 'Live Pause' function.

Can someone please let me know if this is the case or is the vender telling 'porkies'

    Regards

    YSR

Without paying subscription, Sky+ will work as a normal digibox, no recording or " Live Pause ".
The DD5.1 optical output will work fine with or without sub.
