    Hi All,
I wonder if someone can help me....
I am having Sky + installed on Wednesday, and plan to connect it to my Amp using an Optical cable.....

At the mo, my TV is connected to my Amp directly, and this is how I get audio from my current Sky box through my Amp (Sky is connected to my TV via SCART)

If I remove these audio cables that link my TV to my Amp, will the Amp still transmit audio from Sky+/Optical set up, even when a Sky program is not being transmitted in Digital, or will I need to leave the audio cables that link my TV to the Amp in place aswell?

Any experience with this will be appreciated!

the thing is mate that all sky programs are in digital sound,,, not only the ones in 5.1, so all your bbc and sky1 etc will come out in better quality than befor, you just keep your amp on the same input setting regardless of the program.... enjoy

I had the same thoughts, i ended up contacting yamaha who were very helpful.

Essentially the digital and analog audio circuitry is separate so the digital audio out from the amp can only output all the digital audios inputted
same goes for the analogue audio out.
