I just received a second Sky+ box for my multiroom which I intended to upgrade to a larger harddrive.

Unlike my exsting box this one has a warranty void sticker on the back which would have to be broken or removed to upgrade the harddrive. It is a PACE v2.

Has anyone successfully replaced the void sticker after upgrading ? I am trying to leave the option open to replace the old drive if anyting went wrong with the box over the next 12 months.

The new box came from Simply Digital.

The sticker was probably put there by Simply Digital as a result of so many :censored: boxes being returned as faulty :)

Why not swop boxes round? Have the new one with the sticker where the original one is, and upgrade the original with the harddrive and bung that in the second room.

Remove the sticker altogether, use alcohol to remove all traces that it was there, then if it goes back for repair they will assume it never had one in the first place.

Most bench engineers won't give 2 hoots about warranty or not - it's just a job to them.

    or wait a year !

My original is already upgraded and I want to do the same with the new one.

I'll probably do this and go ahead anyway.

    Thanks for the responses.
