No doubt they will have around 25 minutes of adverts every hour. That makes anything they show to be unwatchable. I gave up with anything on sky years ago when the adverts became so intrusive and watching anything on sky with ads was a waste of time. They are even worse now

It's all on demand. Fast forward them. Sky is without doubt the best source of TV viewing

Completely disagree to be honest! Most of Sky's original programmes are pretty naff. Fortitude is OK although it really just turned out as a poor mans Twin Peaks when it initially seemed to be going for the Scandi Noir thing. They have a few good shows overall or at least have had but it doesn't tend to be their original programming. I'd advise just getting Netflix and Amazon Video. Only works out at about £17 per month with a much bigger selection of shows .

I struggle to think of a successful home grown Sky series. Has there been any?

I mean having sky in general for TV watching, everything about sky just beats everything else again in my opinion.

Game of Thrones. If you don't like this then we won't agree with much else.

Haha, well I'll make sure I don't get sky now knowing this.
Band of Brothers is HBO also. Shame on sky.

All I'm saying is in general, films, TV series, sports, content, UHD content, its un-beaten.

Sky will always have its haters because of the price.

Ray Donovan, Westworld, Britania starts in two weeks.

Yeah Sky does seem to have most of the HBO shows. True Detective, Westworld, The Leftovers etc. That's about it though! Doesn't have much else going for it! As for original programming its all duds like Tin Star and Riviera etc. Shows mostly filled with ex EastEnders and Hollyoaks cast members!

I hated Sky because of the fact they used logos though I'm told they use them much less nowadays. I think they were the first to use logos in the UK and now virtually every channel uses them having followed their lead. Their general presentation was rubbish too. A whole 50 new programmes? Am I impressed? No I'm not.

I've had sky since 1991 until last September... Back in the day sky WAS amazing, it was new, fresh and brought something new to the table... But now sky has genuine competition... Even Rupert Murdoch is selling "His baby" off to Disney as he knows sky are losing because of the likes of Netflix, Amazon video and so on... Even sporting rights have caught the eyes of Facebook and YouTube... For me not having sky anymore is saving me a fortune every month.. And I have more then enough content at my disposal for less then £20 per month!

Strike Back is a decent enough program. On it's 6th or 7th series now I believe.
I also really enjoyed Hooten and the Lady, but they canned that after 1 series.
