I want to get Sky digital to my Z2. Will this Scart adaptor work? It says 'These adapters allow you to breakout or breakin audio, video and s-video from / to a scart lead without having to touch the scart cable'. It would then allow me to connect a 10m s-video cable to the Z2.

    Thanks in advance

that one would be average, it converts to stereo audio and composite video (at least that is what it looks like). Composite will look pretty dire on any big screen. At minimum you should look for an svideo connect

It has s-video too. So it will work then?

I have just had one of these delivered, so that I can connect my vcr/ntl box to my panny ae300 (via s/video). Will try and test tonight, and will let you know the results, as I am sure the Z2 will have similar results.

It will only work if your Digibox can output Svideo. So unless you've got a Sky+ unit, or one of the Grundig units with svideo facilities, it's not going to work

    cheers

Gavin is correct, if the digibox only outputs rgb then you can buy a rgb to svideo convertor £50. This is what i use.

The scart adaptor simply connects the pins in the scart plug to their respective s-video, composite video or audio connections on the back. It doesn't do any conversion and requires the scart plug to be sent an s-video picture in the first place for the s-video output to work.

e.g. the JS RGB to SVHS converter uses scart sockets in and out, the our one carries an SVHS signal. This adaptor would be used to extract the s-video signal to a 4pin din socket for use with a straight SVHS lead

Mike you want a scart to VGA adaptor for Sky from Keene with a vga DVI dongle about £30 in total. Works a treat RGB through input 2 on Z2.

Im using these with a good quality 10m VGA cable and have no problems
