Need a little advice guys and gals.

I was wondering if it was possible to acheive a RGB picture on my Relisys Plasma from my Sky+ box, I have no scarts on my plasma only composite, component and s-video. Currently I have it connected via a scart to phono lead, can I improve on this because I'm none too happy with the picture quality.

    Thanks for listening.

    Steve

    Hi mate

I live not far from you- any help required, let me know.

It looks to me as if you need a RGB->YUV box and then you can run it into the component inputs.

    Regards
    Andrew

PS Where in Wrexham you from?

Thanks for the info, can you point me to a website that sells the item you describe. I'm from Hightown, about a mile away from the town centre. Thanks for your help.

    js-technology.com makes and sells it
    av-sales.co.uk sells it
    tmfsolutions.co.uk sell it
you need to configure your SKY+ to output in RGB for best results and turn the contrast in SKY+ right down.

In the short term you could always use an s-video to s-video as the SKY+ box has an s-video out which gives a better picture than composite.

    Cheers

Thanks for your help , its much appericiated, just one last query, I took a look at the JS products and saw that there are 2 types of converters for plasma, the RGB to Plasma Screen VGA and the RGB to Component (YUV) Converter, I was wondering which gives the better results as I have both connections on my Plasma.

    Thanks

on the panny/toshiba the vga gives a slightly sharper picture than the component converter but you have more control and picture settings with component,

before you order drop js tech an email with your Relisys Plasma specs to make sure they are compatable
