SKY Text problem (Press TV First)

Trying to help someone out with the following problem (I cant get to them in person so need to talk them through if I can).

When they are watching amongst other channels attheraces 415 they press text and get the prompt to press TV then text which once done does not put the text on.

On my setup this works with no problem the only difference between our setups is the one that dosesn't work has a analouge aeriel passed through their sky box then on to the TV.
Their SKY remote is coded to work with the TV and the problem still exists using the orginal tv remote.

Any help would be great !

Its text im trying to get for them as it works on my setup.

If im watching sky and have my sky remote with the blue button presses I get digital text on most channels.
On 415 attheraces you are prompted to press tv first then text which then accsess the old style text.
Works on mine but not theirs.

Mine doesn't work either. Maybe it's to do with the new EPG. Thomson 3007 here.

I've tried pressing 'Text' on Channel 415 on all my boxes (Samsung, Amstrad and Pace Sky+) and they all prompt me to press TV then text. One tv has no aerial plugged in and the other two do.

It sounds as though they do not have a teletext TV. The teletext on At The Races is analogue teletext which is decoded by the TV and NOT the Sky digibox. Sky digiboxes only decode digital teletext which is usually via the red button. Do they have an analogue tuner in the TV and if so can they get teletext on say BBC2 on that analogue tuner?

My setup is pure sky with no outside aerial looped through and I can get the text as old style on channel 415.
Were as the problem setup has the old aerial looped through and cant get it.
The TV is a teletext model LCD Phillips sorry cant remember the model number.

Just tried on our Pace HD box and Pace Sky+ box and get the press TV etc.... message on both on channel 415.


At The Races doesn't have digital text so you should always get this message as it's analogue text your viewing which is done by the TV as mentioned above.

I'm guessing that the new EPG doesn't reinsert the analogue teletext signal because my TV says the analogue teletext is 'Not Available' on 415. Mine is a Pace box.

Must be an up till now undiscovered bug with the new software.

Analogue teletext is part of the TV picture and is carried on all analogue video connections - RGB Scart, composite video and RF signal.

Does the problem TV have an analogue tuner (essential for analogue teletext) or is it merely a Freeview TV with digital teletext only?

No both on the old EPG.

Really confused by this and also tried it on my multi room setup and doesn't work on that one.

My setups are :

SKY HD - LCD TV + RF AERIAL Looped through
SKY HD - PLASMA TV (No Aerial)
SKY+ - CURRENT LCD TV (No Aerial)

The only one I can accsess the attheraces text on is the SKY + Setup by pressing TV then text as prompted to do so.

So maybe it only works on the SKY+ boxes and not HD ones ?
If you could compare your setup and check that would be great.

I am technically illiterate....so simple please if you will.....since the new EPG was introduced on my SKY HD+ box I am unable to access any text pages on digital or terrestrial tv.....can you help please?
