Hi - I've got 2 sky+ boxes - one in the living room (newest) and a 2nd in a bedroom (older box)

The newest box over the past week when you turn it on you can only watch the channel its tuned in to at the point you turn it on. After that it just sticks and won't respond so you have to reboot.

    Prior to calling Sky I:-

1 - swapped out the remotes and put in new batteries (no difference)
2 - swapped out the viewing cards (no difference)
3 - swapped out the boxes and have found that the box doesnt work on my upstairs set of cables either - it just sticks.

Sky are now sending out an engineer to look at it. If they cannot repair the box can they take it away leaving me without a box? Or do they give you a temporary box?

I've also got a feeling that I read on here about people being given reconditioned boxes. As this one is only 4 months old could that happen?

Any advice welcome so I am forearmed before the engineer comes along.

    Thanks

Sky 'engineers' don't mend boxes. They swop them for old ones they've got in the van.

Thats not what I wanted to hear! If that is the case I'll be sending him packing and on the phone to customer services.
