Hi!

Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed that, recently, the close-up side view and replay cameras on Sky Sports Live events (Football and Super League, specifically) are not only not HD but are pretty poor SD quality?

On Man U v Boro tonight, Martin Tyler said there were some technical problems that he hoped were not spoiling our enjoyment, but was not more specific.

I first noticed it on Super League last night (Hull v Bradford) and then again tonight on Man U v Boro and Leeds v St Helens.

Anyone else experienced this? Anyone know why?

Many thanks.

Ken

Yes I noticed on the football today that Visions who film premiership for Sky were using SD cameras for side angles and seemed to be out of focus with lots of noise in picture which would explain lack of close ups from these angles.
I would suspect that the original camera for the position went down so had to revert to a spare handheld Hdcam rather than the usual HDC 1000 large camera
