Sky Sports & BT Sports in 4K UHD.. how?

Hi All,

I've just got myself a LG OLED 65 CX. It's my first 4K HDR TV and I am currently wanting to subscribe to Sky Sports and BT Sports for the first time.

Now, as mentioned I have never had Sky or BT, I have done some research but in all honesty I am still a little confused.

Basically, I want to keep monthly costs as low as possible, so all I want is to be able to watch all the Sky Sports channels and all the BT Sports channels in 4K UHD. I am not interested in anything else such as multi-room, entertainment packages or the basic sky channels, broadband etc.

Now TV appears to be more expensive for both Sky Sports & BT Sports and I have also read that I can't get 4k with NOW TV.

Sky requires you to buy bundles which include channels I do not want and from what I have read, I can't access BT Sports 4K through sky? I assume this is the same for subscribing through BT and not being able to get Sky Sports in 4K.

Virigin seem to want me to buy broadband in order to access Sky & BT through them and again, from what I have read, I can't access Sky Sports in 4K?

Is there any other options? Is it simply a case of having to subscribe to both Sky and BT separately in order to watch both in 4K?

It’s not cheap, I have Sky and get Sky Sports UHD. I have BT Broadband so get a big discount on BT Sports through them, with small extra for BT Sport Ultimate. Can then watch BT Ultimate in 4k HDR with the BT Sports app on my Sony tv.

I recently got rid of my BT sports as I just didn't think it was worth the £27 a month I was paying sky. So I also am looking at cheaper ways of getting BT Sport if anyone has any ideas?

If your mobile phone contract is coming to an end any time soon, you could switch to an EE plan which includes BT sport (on mobile), it’s then £5 a month for large screen access.

Hi - with the new season coming soon, I’m wondering if there’s a way to get Sky Sports 4K and BT Sports 4k (without needing to get both Sky and BT boxes)?

BT Sport's Ultimate UHD now available on Sky Q and Glass on channel 493. Was promised since July but now active since 14th Nov 22.
