Why are the volume levels different between watching "normal" TV and Sky.

Even if I watch the same channel (ie BBC1) on Sky, I have to turn the volume up.

    Any ideas?

Oh yeah.. and this also happens when watching DVDs - I have to ramp the volume up.

    Equipment:

    TV: Panny TX32 LXD5
    DVD: Panny DMR EX85
    Sky Box

    Sky to TV via Scart
    DVD to TV via HDMI

Try changing the sound settings in the Sky service menu. You will probably find they are on maximum. Change it to mid-way and you will probably find it is similar to "normal" tv.

    Hope this helps.
