    Hi,

A Sky Engineer Came Out Recently To Replace My Sky Box With A New Model. However, He Seems To Have Done Something To The Co Axial Cable. My Signal Strenth Is About 1/4 And Signal Quality Is 3/4. The Picture Appears To Be Breaking Up And The Edges On The Images Appear Jagged And Distorted. Could A 1/4 Sgnal Strength Be The Explanation For This? The Sounds Also Appears To Fluctuate Now And Again Also. Any Advice Would Be Appreciated.

    Thanks In Advance.

Unscrew the coax connectors and check the screening is not touching the core.

The core is the rigid copper wire in the centre of the cable and the screening is the thinner braided/mesh surrounding the plastic that surrounds the core.

    Hope this clears things.

If it were you'd be getting nothing at all.

Is the box new or 'reconditioned'? Make & model? Did he touch the dish?

    Thanks Jackuzi.

Arthur Dork - The box is brand new as they had previously brought out some reconditioned boxes that did not perform well. The box is a new slimline silver Thomon (not sure of model as it is fully plugged in). I had asked fora Pansasonic though!
