    Hi,

Is it normal for a sky+ signal to never be better than 60% on input 1? Input 2 is always worse. This isn't usually a problem (apart when it rains hard) as my 32" Thomson TV handles a poor feed quite well, however I'm getting a Plasma on Friday and am worried that a poor signal may affect PQ.

    So
    a) Is this Signal Quality normal
    b) if not will Sky come out FOC to realign (or whatever needs doing)

The signal quality is 80% on LNB1 on mine and 90% on LNB2.

Sky should come out FOC if your box is still under warranty, or if you have extended service cover, otherwise they will charge you.

    Many thanks.

The Box is only 4-6 months old so should be well within guarantee.

I'll wait for the plasma to be installed and the wind to die down (no picture atm  due to wind) before giving Sky a ring.

    thanks again

If you can reach your Sky dish, place your hand over the receiving end of the LNB (the bit nearest the dish). Don't pull on it ! If you can cover 50% of it with your fingers, and the picture is still OK, then (rule of thumb) the dish is OK.

I'd normally agree but I still have a roof on top of my house which is better than 2 houses near me where their roofs are on the ground    . the wind was really bad earlier today so I'll forgive it this time.
