A very noob question, but I'm sure some kind person here will know:

I've set Sky+ to record Eastenders tonight (Thursday) *cough* for the wife, honest *cough* and pressed 'series link'... will this now record

    1) every Thursday episode of Eastenders

    or

    2) every episode, regardless of day and start time. (And would it include the omnibus edition?)

So I'm really asking - how clever is the Series link?

The series link is as clever as the people who assign the schedule for it and manipulate the code:)

In the case of EE it will or at least should record every new episode of the show and miss the omnibus editions and those on other channels.

Not that I've done it with Eastenders but it should do all episodes - regardless of day and time (ex Omnibus / BBC3 2nd showings etc)

It works this way with Simpsons on Sky One (despite some strange occurences where certain Saturday / Sunday shows seem to have their own Series link "route")

Now, if there was a "series ignore" button, I'd use it all the time for Eastenders :)

Seriously.... I would. Eastenders is the dreariest soap ever. I'm not (officially) a cockney (born within the sound of Bow bells), but I'm only about a mile out from being one. Cockneys are cheerful people, not the dreary bunch portrayed in Eastenders. In any case, there aren't that many cockneys in the east end any more - they all emigrated to Basildon and Harlow years ago :) If Walford actually existed, Albert Square would be full of people born in Pakistan, not Bermondsey ! (I'm not being racist, just accurate).

P.S. I think Starburst is correct - series link would not record omnibus editions.
